The purpose of the Society is to bring together people interested in the history of theTown of Fair Haven. Our extensive collection includes books, scrapbooks, magazines,photos, newspapers, town records, genealogical files, and artifacts. Donations are alwayswelcome.
Our annual events include participation in Spring Fling (May), the welcome Center expo(June), and Applefest (September). Each July the Society co-sponsors Local HistoryDay with the Fair Haven Farmers’ Market. We also hold an annual tea for our seniorcitizens, an annual meeting with guest speaker (January), and a celebration on CharterDay (October). Board meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each monthat 6:30 p.m. Our newsletter, the “Slate of Historic Events Past and Present,” is publishedquarterly.
The Society has several items for sale including books, postcards, notecards, mugs, andsweatshirts. All proceeds support the work of the Society. In addition, a campaign iscurrently underway to raise money to replace the wooden posts surrounding the FairHaven Park with marble posts.
